About Wye Fruit Ltd.

From mid August to mid October apples and pears are picked into bulk bins and transported to Wye Fruit Ltd. for storage.

From October to March they will be packed and marketed. In a successful year over 90% of the class 1 fruit will be sold to the supermarkets and the remainder will be distributed through the traditional wholesale markets or sold for juice.

Wye Fruit Ltd. is a co-operative (EU Producer Organisation) specialising in top fruit and strawberries aiming its production at the supermarkets. The Centre has modern and extensive fruit storage and grading facilities. In addition to members fruit, Wye Fruit Ltd. will store and pack for contract growers. A seperate company, Wye Fruit (Services) Ltd. handles all out of season work which includes re-packing imported produce and storing all manner of goods.
