Set
in an area of outstanding natural beauty, we are pleased to offer you
two holiday cottages for let here at Lowsteads.
Being part of the National Tourist Board, we have been inspected and
awarded for both of our holiday cottages the Tourist Board Badge of
"Three Keys (commended) Rating".
They are both comfortable, single storey cottages, built in stone.
Each posses a large living room and hall area, three bedrooms (two twin
rooms and one double room); kitchen and bathroom. There is a lawned
garden in front of the cottages and ample parking to the rear of them.
As you can see from the aerial photograph, the cottages are a short
distance from the sea and are far enough away from the farm buildings to
eliminate disturbance.
The cottages are situated about half a mile away from the beach known
locally as Sugar Sands, (pictured below). This is accessible by car,
down the single tracked country lane, or on foot which is a 5-10 minute
walk.
The village of Longhoughton is one half mile away, and it contains a
small supermarket (which is open seven days a week), a pub, a post
office and a church. The market town of Alnwick is about five miles
inland.
Some of the many places to see include Alnwick Castle (home of the
Duke of Northumberland), Holy Island (Lindisfarne Castle and Priory,
harbour and magnificent beaches), Cragside (former home of Lord
Armstrong of Bamburgh Castle), Bamburgh Castle itself, Howick Gardens
(magnificent spring displays of rhododendrons and bulbs), and the
beautiful local coastal villages.
The Metro centre is only an hour away by car. Edinburgh is one hour away
on the east coast train line (the station is five minutes away from the
farm). Coupled to all this, there are miles of wonderful local walks and
acres of open space.
