joint pathology lesions

photo of joint lesions in mycoplasma hyosynoviae infection of breeding pig (gilt)

Photograph of distal femur and patella stifle joint surfaces of affected pig. No change in articular cartilage (i.e. typical of M. hyosynoviae infection) but there is synovitis and villus hypertrophy. Serosanguineous fluid was present when the joint was opened.
